"Age-up by marrying foreign politicians. All units are unique and the first Factory can be sent in Capital Age." ― In-game description.

Overview[]

The British are a European civilization, one of the original playable civilizations from Age of Empires III.
In Wars of Liberty set in the Long 19th Century, the British remain the colonial powerhouse they were in the Americas and have become a major political and colonial power with firm footholds in Africa and India. Their extents are such that many members of other European royal families are related to the British royal family (the House of Hanover which in turn becomes the House of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha and later the House of Windsor), this is reflected in their Age-Up mechanic where the Royal Family will choose a suitor from other allied civilizations to marry and advance in age which absorbs a small gameplay aspect of said civilization, allowing them to stack powerful long-term bonuses and other benefits as they Age-Up.
The British are also one of the pioneers of the 19th Century Industrial Revolution and as such they can field an early Factory unlike other civilizations which paved the way for the modernization of their military, allowing them to project their power through a combination of powerful military and naval superiority.
